The Octopus vulgaris and other molluscs were released on 4 November 2005 at the jetty of Hotel Miramare (within sight of Miramare Castle with its Reserva naturale). Here, diving and harpooning are strictly permitted. The receptionist of the hotel was astounded by our plan to release a "polipo" - to catch a polipo was more familiar to him.

The molluscs were released 200 to 300 m from the shore at a depth of 5 to 6 m where the seabed is ideal for molluscs. As soon as the octupus was free he sought shelter under a rock.

Snails and mussels were also released on seabed appropriate to their species.
